A website called "Juicy Campus" is under investigation by authorities in New Jersey. Juicy Campus.Com allows anonymous posters and it is under fire from critics that claim the posts go way too far and are often over the top. The state's the Attorney General's Office said it will look into whether the website is violating consumer fraud laws in the state.

According to the New Jersey Star Ledger, the website has drawn criticism on campuses around the country for allowing users to post questions like "Who's the sluttiest girl on campus?" and "Who are the closeted gays on campus sports team?" and letting others post responses. Its motto is: "Always anonymous ... Always juicy."

It has been featured on several news programs as well. Other critics say it has taken the age old tradition of scribbling nasty rumors on a bathroom wall and advanced it with technology by allowing the posting online for all the world to see. New Jersey Attorney General Anne Milgram said, "There's an unbelievable amount of offensive material posted and absolutely no enforcement," and she notes insults about students' appearance, race and sexual history as "just the tip of the iceberg," according to a report from USA Today.

Without registering, anyone can post to the site, where messages are tagged with keywords - Harvard, spring break, overheard on campus - for easier searching. The site launched last fall on seven college campuses and recently expanded to 50 more. It is free to use and supported by advertising, and Juicy Campus promises total anonymity to people who post on it.
